The green tea leaves used in Sencha + Cinnamon is from Umegashima, which has a unique strong aroma and astringent taste that can only be produced by tea grown deep in the mountains.
Cinnamon itself is said to be one of the world’s oldest spices. Interestingly it is extracted from the bark of the Lauraceae tree. Its unique flavor, both sweet and spicy, makes it very popular in sweets.
The cinnamon in this combo tea is ground in-house with the right proportion of larger pieces and smaller pieces of cinnamon, which ensures that hot water extracts the right amount of cinnamon to green tea ratio for optimal taste. The ultimate result is a full-bodied tea.
