My Fire

i wanna master my own fire

the fire that gives warmth to people i love

the fire that creates art to inspire

the fire that loves, the fire that lights

and the fire that overcomes time

my fire burnt my earth

dark charcoal, sensitive ground

i feel insecure when i compare my land

i need to cherish my soil because i am rich & abundant

my fire boiled my water

endless water, but it’s burning hot

i can’t connect when i’m fully heated up

i need to cool down my juice because i am creative

my fire raised my air

i was born with air, but not compatible love

how can i love when my heart burns

i need to learn to love my air so i can be fully free

My reflection

my dad was a business man

but i learned fire from my single mom

a sensitive woman but the most hardest working person i knew

i saw her fire grow

i saw her drive conquer

she didn’t have a choice but to fight

at 18, i left her to find myself

but i tried to become like my dad

i started my first business just because of my dad

but i didn't know him, so i did it for my mom

now, i’m learning my own fire

i wanna do it for myself

i’m not my dad i'm not my mom

i’m my own person with my mom's lingering fire

a bit chaotic but it makes me who i am : )
