Roasted green tea powder | Hojicha Power
Flavor, aroma, and color: Ryuall is particular about the balance of these three in green tea
Hojicha Powder
2 oz - 37 servings
焙じ茶 "Hojicha" is made by roasting green tea over strong heat to bring out the aroma.
Roasting causes the caffeine contained in the tea leaves to sublimate (go from a solid to a gas form), which reduces its caffeine content significantly.
It has a refreshing taste with little bitterness or astringency, so it goes well with Japanese and Western sweets and is easy to drink with any meal. It also has a soft, sweet, nutty, almost-chocolatey aroma that brings you a sense of peaceful happiness.
What’s great about drinking or eating roasted green tea in powder form is that you ingest the entire tea leaf easily, thereby taking in all of the nutritious benefits green tea has to offer.
With powder, you can make lattes, cakes, cookies, or be even more adventurous by mixing it in cocktails (hojicha whiskey sour, anyone? :p).

This stuff is amazing! It has almost sweet, chocolatey taste and aroma, and it’s not bitter at all! I love it mixed as a latte but it’s also good with just water…and for baking cookies :)
They handpicked this hojicha. It’s dark, very rich and very high quality. I saw the owners at OC japan fair. They sold out the next day. You can’t really find good hojicha powder like this.
I love this hojicha powder. Hojicha kind of tastes like caramel and roasted coffee but green tea. I’m a former coffee addict so it is great that this is low in caffeine and can drink at night.
I love how good this taste and makes things creamier! It has a great aroma too. I used it to make hojicha cheesecake 😋
I love their hojicha powder! Seika was serving the lattes at OC fair! It got me hooked 💗
