1. Iced Hojicha Latte (Super Easy)

8oz oat milk + 1.5g hojicha powder + agave + electric frother till smooth

2. Hojicha Cheesecake

Use a sifter to add to batter or just splash some on top of cheesecake.

Reason:

We selected this Shizuoka bancha to make our hojicha powder for its dark brown color, chocolatey aroma and nutty taste. We fell in love with it and it became our first product. It’s been one of our top selling products ever since the beginning! 🥰

  • 焙じ茶 "Hojicha" is made by roasting green tea over strong heat to bring out the aroma.

Roasting causes the caffeine contained in the tea leaves to sublimate (go from a solid to a gas form), which reduces its caffeine content significantly.

It has a refreshing taste with little bitterness or astringency, so it goes well with Japanese and Western sweets and is easy to drink with any meal. It also has a soft, sweet, nutty, almost-chocolatey aroma that brings you a sense of peaceful happiness.

What’s great about drinking or eating roasted green tea in powder form is that you ingest the entire tea leaf easily, thereby taking in all of the nutritious benefits green tea has to offer.

With powder, you can make lattes, cakes, cookies, or be even more adventurous by mixing it in cocktails (hojicha whiskey sour, anyone? :p).

    Smells good, tastes good

This stuff is amazing! It has almost sweet, chocolatey taste and aroma, and it’s not bitter at all! I love it mixed as a latte but it’s also good with just water…and for baking cookies :)

    Low caffeine

I love this hojicha powder. Hojicha kind of tastes like caramel and roasted coffee but green tea. I’m a former coffee addict so it is great that this is low in caffeine and can drink at night.

    The best hojicha powder!

They handpicked this hojicha. It’s dark, very rich and very high quality. I saw the owners at OC japan fair. They sold out the next day. You can’t really find good hojicha powder like this.
