Genmaicha usually use later-harvested bancha. Because brown rice is roasted, its aroma can be over-powering, so we only used the clean yet soft first harvest sencha (instead of rough later-harvested bancha) to blend with Japanese brown rice to create the most balanced, aromatic & delicious genmaicha.
