"I recently came across a booth at an artisan fair and thought, hmm, this might be interesting—but what sets this tea business apart from its competitors? The two proprietors, Seika and CJ, were immediately friendly and eager to share samples of their teas in powdered form. We began with matcha, followed by hojicha and genmaicha. As someone who typically avoids matcha because of its bitterness, I was surprised by how smooth and well-balanced it tasted—especially as a cold brew. The hojicha and genmaicha were equally impressive. Having only ever experienced these teas served hot, I found their cold, refreshing versions unexpectedly delicious..."
