Easy step-by-step guide for Matcha Latte & Hojicha Latte recipe you can make at home.

Compared to coffee, matcha and hōjicha powder are ideal ingredients for creating a satisfyingly creamy latte experience. When ground up in powder form and added to a liquid, Camellia sinensis (the plant species that produces green tea leaves) can produce a naturally creamy substance whisked in properly. This recipe focuses on how you can harmoniously maximize the creaminess factor of your milk of choice + matcha/hōjicha powder so that you can indulge in the soothing charm of a green tea latte!
Matcha or Hojicha Latte Recipe:
Ingredients
1-2 tablespoons matcha/hōjicha powder
1 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy--we recommend a creamy oat milk)
1-2 teaspoons sweetener (such as honey or agave)
Instructions
Pour milk into cup larger than intended serving size. Leave room at the top for increase in volume during whisking (step 2)
Sift tea powder into cold milk to ensure less clumpiness
Whisk tea powder into milk. We recommend using an immersion blender with a whisk attachment. This will maximize the creaminess by (1) ensuring all of the particles of the tea powder (tea powder itself is naturally creamy!) are mixed in and (2) maximizing the natural frothiness of the milk. If you do not have an immersion blender, we recommend first mixing tea powder into a portion of warm/hot milk using a manual whisk or chasen (Japanese bamboo whisk) in combination with a frother.
Slowly add and mix in well choice of sweetener to taste.
Tips and Variations:
Experiment with different types of milk to find your favorite combination.
If you don't have a whisk or a frother, you can use a fork to whisk the matcha and hot water.
For added flavor, consider adding a splash of vanilla extract or a pinch of cinnamon to your latte.
If you're feeling adventurous, try adding a dash of coconut milk or a sprinkle of cocoa powder on top for extra flair.
